Media Release: Victorian TAFE and the next four years
The Victorian TAFE Association (VTA) congratulates the Victorian Labor Party for both its election win and the tenor of its campaign.
Andrew Williamson, Executive Director of the VTA said, “Internationally, we have seen bitter electioneering tear at the social fabric. Labor’s campaign focussed on progressive policies and they have been rewarded at the polls.”
VTA notes that Labor’s platform continues to feature the public TAFE network as a central enabler to deliver the social and economic vision for Victoria. Twelve TAFE Institutes and four Dual Sector Universities provide state-wide, values-driven services to Victorian citizens, industry and communities. Victoria’s devolved TAFE model maintains the intimate relationship between public VET and local needs.
“As the returned Andrews government establishes itself to deliver on its policy agenda for the state, the network of Victorian TAFEs and Dual Sector Universities is readied to provide the skills Victoria needs” said Mr Williamson.
“We look forward to working with the government for the next four years, to ensure that Victoria has the right skills for a prosperous future”.
