Australian Bureau of Statistics

The Australian Bureau of Statistics provides statistical information on a wide range of economic and social matters to government, business and the community generally. The statistics are released in publications and other products.

Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER)

The ACER is a national body which monitors emerging priorities and issues, and undertakes commissioned research to inform educational policy and practice. The site contains details of ACER research activity, products, publications and library services.

Centre for the Economics of Education and Training (CEET)

CEET is a joint venture of Monash University - Faculty of Education and Faculty of Business and Economics - and the Australian Council for Educational Research, ACER. The Centre undertakes research, research training, consultancies and dissemination of research. CEET publishes working papers, research reports, monographs, collections of papers and a newsletter THE CEETSHEET, most of which are available on this website.

Department of Employment and Workforce Relations

This site includes data on small labour markets. Small Area Labour Markets presents estimates of the number of unemployed persons and employment rates for approximately 1,350 Statistical Local Areas across Australia. It also provides estimates of the main labour market aggregates for the 19 DEWR labour market regions.

Department of Sustainability and the Environment (DSE)

The site includes the Know Your Area database providing data about the people of an area and how they live. It has current data relating to population (e.g. projections, census data, erps), land, housing, employment and other facts about Local Government areas. It is a database that can be searched by: States, Capital cities, SDs (Statistical Divisions), State regions including Victoria, Regional Victoria and Melbourne Metropolitan Area, LGAs (Local Government areas), SLAs (Statistical Local areas), suburbs and towns.

Dusseldorp Skills Forum

An independent, non-profit association with a charter to stimulate innovative educational developments and to promote the formation of skills and personal effectiveness , particularly in young people. One of its main priorities has been the opportunities for those staying at school who are unlikely to enter higher education, with a focus on vocational education and training. This site includes details of the Forum's initiatives and projects, publications, media releases and tools and resource repository.

Education Network Australia (EdNA)

The EdNA directory services provides access to quality internet sites for the education and training community. It offers opportunities for educators and students of all ages to learn together, share ideas and find information.

Local Learning and Employment Networks (including On Track data)

The LLEN homepage provides useful links to On Track destination data for exit year 12 secondary school students. By accessing individual LLEN pages, specific data relating to local areas can be obtained.

National Training Information Service

The NTIS is a national database industry holding detailed information on accredited courses, qualifications, endorsed competency standards and training organisations. It also provides information on Training Packages, new VET initiatives and useful links to other training related websites.

NCVER (National Centre for Vocational Education Research)

The NCVER is Australia's principal research and evaluation organisation for the vocational education and training sector in Australia. The site contains research tools, VET statistics, projects underway and publications databases.

NSW Board of Vocational Education and Training

One of the Board's key responsibilities is to provide the NSW Minister with strategic advice about the future needs of the NSW training system. In fulfilling this role, the Board develops planning documents, which detail the strategies, priority areas and specific initiatives that will guide the future of the NSW training system.

Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development

The OECD site includes details of OECD activities (including a comprehensive section on education, employment, labour and social affairs), statistics, events, current issues and publications.

Skills Victoria & Skills Victoria - Corporate

The Skills Victoria (formerly OTTE) sites include information for business and industry including priorities for government funded VET (industry priorities and study area reports).

Sustainability Victoria

Sustainability Victoria's purpose is to show the way to using our resources more efficiently and reducing our everyday environmental impacts.

TAFE Development Centre (TDC)

One of TDC's goals is to identify, encourage and contribute to the development of research into vocational teaching and learning in Australia and overseas.

UNESCO Education Information Service

Information about UNESCO Education activities and conferences, and a detailed range of multimedia tools, including education databases, statistics, catalogues, pictures and sounds.

VOCED

VOCED is a large, free, web-based international database of abstracts on vocational education and training research, policy and practice. VOCED is produced by Australia's National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) as part of its role in a UNESCO regional centre of excellence in technical and vocational education and training, based jointly at NCVER and Adelaide Institute of TAFE (AIT).
