Events
The Victorian TAFE Association conducts regular events, seminars, meetings and conferences throughout the year. Regular meetings and seminars are part of the VTA's professional development program. All of our meetings and seminars are designed to meet the needs and concerns of our Members and are held at venues in Melbourne and regional areas. They are held exclusively for our Member and Associate Members.

Meetings
Annual General Meeting
The AGM is open to all Institute Directors, Directors of TAFE Divisions of Universities and Board Chairpersons (or Board nominee), and provides an opportunity to review the VTA's activities for the preceding year, and to discuss its future directions. The AGM elects on an annual basis the Administrative Committee. Institute Board Directors are welcome to attend as observers.
Association Council Meetings
Association Council Meetings provide an opportunity for Board Chairpersons and CEOs of TAFEs to regularly meet, hear reports on VTA activities and determine positions that the Association will adopt and implement.
CEO Council Meetings
The CEO Council Meeting is a monthly meeting at which CEO's meet to discuss and debate current TAFE issues.
Human Resource Network Meetings
These meetings provide opportunities for Human Resources staff to meet and network. Industrial reports are provided to participants and best practice speakers provide contemporary outlines of current initiatives, projects and practices. These meetings are relatively informal with a large amount of time devoted to open forum sessions.
Conferences
State Conference
The Association holds an annual conference for TAFE Board Directors, CEOs and Senior Managers. These conferences provide challenging and topical programs and speakers, and include open forum sessions.
In recent years, conference themes have included:
- Sustainable Futures for TAFE
- Transformation and Change for TAFE in Victoria
- Victorian TAFE in the Global Economy
- Corporate Governance and how it relates to TAFE Institute Boards
- Who pays for TAFE?
- The Learning Organisation
- Intelligent Leadership
- A Celebration of Success in TAFE.
The conferences also provide an excellent opportunity for informal networking by Institute Board Members and Institute senior management.
